Margot assoluta
| Fair Prospect Imprint’s
first book was designed to complement a
three-day conference in London in 1999.
This symposium, entitled ‘The Fonteyn
Phenomenon’, was organised by the
Royal Academy of Dancing. It set out to
analyse the far-reaching influence of the
legendary ballerina Margot Fonteyn, the
dancer who made her first New York
appearance at the age of thirty, in 1949,
after which the press went crazy, with one
paper announcing: “The world’s
only valid legend.” Time magazine
instantly put her on their cover. |
